The Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations are of significance to all producers, distributors, and retailers in South Africa. If you sell, manufacture or import any of the products below, your business must comply with South Africa’s Environmental and Waste Regulations.
- Appliances
- Computers, printers, laptops
- Cell phones, chargers, headphones
- All electronics
- Battery-powered toys
- Single-use cutlery, cups, straws etc.
- All packaging – glass, paper, plastic, and metal
- Solar panels & accessories
- Batteries
- Light bulbs and fittings

- Engine oil, brake fluid, hydraulic systems

The Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations are of significance to all producers, distributors, and retailers in South Africa. If you sell, manufacture or import any of the products below, your business must comply with South Africa’s Environmental and Waste Regulations.
The National Environmental Management Waste Act (NEMWA) No. 59/2008 makes provision for the implementation of EPR programmes in South Africa.
